G94 is at its best developing portfolio sites.
It is all about devising the perfect vehicle to showcase a client's work. Actually, the briefing is often simple and from a content point of view many requirements are shared across all projects (for example image series, a biography, possibly a news section, etc). Therefore, the true challenge is finding a unique approach, it is matter of figuring out a site concept and creating an interface that makes the site stand out amongst it's competitors. It should be on top of tongues, visitors should bookmark and revisit it.
In that regard we consider designing a portfolio as the ultimate challenge in interface design, keeping in mind that the star of the show should always remain the work on display. It is not about showing off our own skills. Quite the opposite: our work should be restrained and subtle. And to the point. Given our body of work in this area it's fair to claim that our approach makes sense, and we're happy it is widely being appreciated.
